Son of Coach Bill Lynch Named One of Indiana's Top 50 HS Football Players, Considers DePauw
December 7, 2004
December 7, 2004, Greencastle, Ind. - "His dad, Bill, is a former Ball State head coach and is the current head coach at DePauw," writes the Muncie Star Press of Kevin Lynch, who has been named one of the 50 best high school football players in Indiana by the state coaches association. "During his senior season [at Delta High School], Lynch had 41 receptions for 806 yards, a 20.7-yard average. He had eight touchdown receptions. He also returned a punt for a score. Lynch, a 3-year varsity player at Delta, might play for his dad at DePauw. 'It's a good possibility,' he said. (pictured at left: Bill Lynch)
The story by Brian Saparnis adds that Kevin Lynch, who studies game films to learn more about football, "does want to follow in his dad's coaching shoes too, although he's not sure whether he wants to coach at the collegiate or high school level. His oldest brother, Billy, is an assistant at Miami in the Mid-American Conference. Another older brother, Joey, is a quarterback at Ball State."
