TIME's List of "People Who Mattered 2004" Includes Lee Hamilton '52

December 26, 2004

December 26, 2004, Greencastle, Ind. - The year-end issue of TIME magazine lists "People Who Mattered 2004," and Lee Hamilton, vice chair of the 9/11 commission and a 1952 graduate of DePauw University, is among those cited. The publication notes, "In an election year filled with low blows, 9/11 Commission chairman Kean and vice chairman Hamilton stood tall -- cajoling testimony from Condoleezza Rice and President Bush, accessing key high-level documents and pushing Congress to pass sweeping intelligence reform. Along the way, their 567-page report about the day the Twin Towers fell became a best seller."

Lee Hamilton, a former United States Congressman, returned to the 5524DePauw campus for "Issues for America," September 17. Read a summary of his presentation, including video and audio clips, by clicking here.
