DePauw starter P.J. Mitchell limited the Division I Hoosiers to just two hits through the first five innings, but the Tigers managed just two of their own through five.

Indiana's Jay Brant singled to right with one out in the bottom of the sixth and stole second before scoring on Joe Kemp's single to center. Kemp then stole second and Ryan Parker drew a walk. Zach Boswell's single to center plated Kemp and Parker scored on Corby Heckman's lineout to Kyle Dobbs in right.

Reggie Watson singled to right with one out in the bottom of the seventh and moved to third on Brant's single through the left side. Parker doubled to left scoring Watson and Brant.

The Tigers' best scoring opportunity came in the seventh when Greg DeBeer doubled with one out and Adrian Norris walked, but the next two DePauw hitters struck out to end the threat.

DePauw totaled four hits with one each from Chris Newman, DeBeer, Norris and Matt Deahl. Indiana finished with 10 hits led by Parker's three and two from Brant and Josh Richardson.

Matt Saba picked up the win and P.J. Mitchell suffered the loss despite allowing just five hits in 5 1/3 innings.

DePauw opens the home portion of its season on Saturday when it entertains Anderson in a noon doubleheader.
