March 9, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - "A new essay section in the retooled SAT that makes its debut Saturday," writes Robert Becker in today's Chicago Tribune. "Madeleine Eagon, vice president for admissions and financial aid at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind., said the SAT essay would help colleges discern when an overzealous parent has been too helpful with a student's application. 'I am very excited to have the opportunity to see what a student can produce in a high-stakes environment in a 25-minute first draft,' she said."
