Mitchell named SCAC co-Pitcher of the Week

mitchell031805.jpgApril 12, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw junior pitcher P.J. Mitchell was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference co-Pitcher of the Week for his performances in a complete game win at Rose-Hulman and a relief appearance at Franklin.

Mitchell struck out a career-high 12 batters in the conference win at Rose-Hulman while allowing four runs (three earned) on nine hits with just two walks.

For the week, Mitchell pitched 10.0 innings, allowed 10 hits, three earned runs, 12 strikeouts and two walks.

Mitchell is fifth in the SCAC in ERA (3.10) and fourth in opponents' batting average (.227) and is tied for third in wins (5). He has worked 61.0 innings (tied for second in the SCAC) and has recorded a league-leading 53 strikeouts.
