DePauw-Bound Student Named National Merit Finalist

April 28, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - Chase Hill, a senior at Kentucky's Henderson County High School has been named a National Merit finalist and "will attend DePauw University in Indiana," according to the Henderson Gleaner. "I decided to go with DePauw because I really liked the atmosphere, and the kids there, and everything about it really drew me there," Hill tells the newspaper.
Victoria Marty writes, "At County High, Hill has a 3.9 grade point average and received scores of 61 (verbal), 80 (math) and 74 (writing skills) out of a total score of 80 in each category on his PSAT. 'I'm completely excited' about getting the National Merit finalist designation, he said. 'It's a huge honor,' Hill added. 'I never really imagined something that big coming my way.'"
