May 6, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - Lee Hamilton -- a former U.S. Congressman, vice chair of the 9/11 Commission and 1952 graduate of DePauw University -- will, along with two former presidential cabinet members, "head a panel formed to build a national consensus on how to deal with immigration issues," the Associated Press reports. "The panel was created by the Migration Policy Institute, a Washington think tank. The leaders include Spencer Abraham, former Energy Secretary during President Bush's first term and now a fellow at the Hoover Institution... Former U.S. Immigration Commissioner Doris Meissner will direct the panel."
