As part of its "50 States in 50 Days" promotion, polled visitors to its Web site on the top attractions of each state, and the Monon Bell Classic was among the choices under "best rivalry." Finishing second was the Indiana-Purdue basketball rivalry.

The DePauw University - Wabash College football series, which began in 1890, is knotted at 51-51-9 following November's 14-7 Tiger victory. The Bell was introduced as the rivalry's prize in 1932; DePauw leads in games played for the Monon Bell by a 35-32-6 count.
