Football Tigers Dominate University of Chicago, 33-9

DSC_1616.jpgOctober 1, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw University rushed for 316 yards and five touchdowns as the Tigers bowled over the visiting University of Chicago Maroons 33-9 in a Family Weekend contest at Blackstock Stadium this afternoon. Jeremiah Marks led DePauw with 141 yards on 32 carries and scored two touchdowns. Fellow sophomore Dorrius Ford picked up 90 yards on 9 attempts with a TD, while senior quarterback Ross Wiethoff added 71 yards on 8 carries with a score.  The Tigers' final touchdown was a 15-yard scamper by freshman Daniel Stauffer.

The non-conference victory improves DePauw's season record to DePauw Helmet2-1. Chicago falls to 0-4, but the Maroons' previous three losses were by seven or fewer points. The Tigers are back in action next Saturday afternoon at Sewanee (University of the South).
