Basketball Teams Claim Holiday Tournament Crowns

DSC_7321.jpgNovember 28, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - "DePauw Univeristy freshman point guard Michael Moore was named to the Mike Rokicki Community Versus Cancer Challenge all-tournament team after scoring 22 points and dishing out 10 assists in the 88-83 championship game win over Manchester," notes today's edition of Indiana's Elkhart Truth. "The Concord High School graduate scored seven of DePauw’s 12 overtime points including seven straight." DePauw's Stephen Schott (seen at left) was named the tournament's most valuable player.

In Wilmington, Ohio yesterday, DePauw's women's basketball team captured the Fred Raizk Memorial Tournament title and improvedwbbwilmington.jpg to 4-1 on the season by defeating host Wilmington 88-75. The Tigers' Gretchen Haehl and Liz Bondi posted career highs with 25 and 24 points, respectively and Bondi grabbed a career-best 11 rebounds in the win. Bondi was named the tournament MVP, while Haehl earned a spot on the all-tournament team.
