Two Sons of Olu Oredugba '64 to Face Off in Friday's Sun Bowl

December 25, 2005

December 25, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - "The Oredugbas come from an athletic family as their father, Olu, was a track standout at DePauw (Ind.) University," notes a story in the Los Angeles Daily News on Olukayode and David Oredugba, who play football, respectively, for UCLA and Northwestern. The two teams face off in Friday's Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas. Their father, Olumuyiwa O. Oredugba, M.D., is aec tower snow 2005.jpg 1964 graduate of DePauw University, and their sister, Olubusola Oredugba, is a 2000 alumna.

"It's probably a good thing UCLA defensive back Olukayode Oredugba's brother, David, won't be home in Los Angeles today," writes the Daily News' JIll Painter. "Otherwise, they'd likely trade barbs over the Christmas ham and pie. David plays on special teams for Northwestern and has been in El Paso preparing for the Sun Bowl since Friday and will miss the family celebration. Olukayode, a sophomore defensive back, will spend the day with family and then leave for Texas with his UCLA teammates tonight... Now the only problem is where all the family members will sit."
