Tigers improve to 11-1 with easy win over Viterbo

December 29, 2005, Phoenix, Ariz. - The 10th-ranked Tigers improved to 11-1 with their 10th straight win as they defeated Viterbo 84-33 in the Grand Canyon Classic. Viterbo dropped to 6-9 with the loss.

The Tigers put together a 23-4 run over the final 10 minutes of the first half to pull away from the V-Hawks and take a 44-22 lead into the intermission. DePauw then opened the second half with a 22-4 stretch to push the margin to 38 points.

Liz Bondi led the Tigers with a double-double of 18 points and a career-high 13 rebounds, while Suzy Doughty followed with 12 points and Kalei Lowes added 11. Anne Wilson led Viterbo with 14 points.

The Tigers shot 52 percent for the game including 57 percent in the first half and held the V-Hawks to 28.6 percent for the game. DePauw also held a 50-29 advantage on the boards.

DePauw, off to its best start in school history, faces William Paterson on Saturday at 10 a.m. MST.
