February 5, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - The DePauw men's basketball team improved to 10-11 overall and 6-5 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference following a 110-88 win over Rhodes. The Lynx dropped to 10-12 overall and 2-9 in the SCAC.

The Tigers never trailed on the way to their third straight win. DePauw led by as many as 13 in the first half on the way to a 57-45 halftime advantage. Rhodes closed the gap to 68-67 five minutes into the second half after a 13-2 run, but the Tigers put together a 24-7 burst over the next seven minutes to push the margin to 18 at 92-74 with 7:36 left.

The Tigers shot a season-high 66.7 percent from the field and knocked down 15-of-23 three-point attempts in the win, while Rhodes hit 50 percent for the contest.

Alex Stewart led the Tigers with 21 on 7-of-8 three-pointers, while Stephen Schott followed with 20 points. Ryan Werntz followed with a career-high 17 and hit 5-of-7 three-point tries and Matt McDonald added 16.

Matthew Jakes paced Rhodes with 24, followed by Rami Almefty with 20, Joe Thompson with 15 and Justin Strong with 12.

DePauw outrebounded Rhodes 32-27 with Schott and McDonald grabbing seven each for the Tigers. Almefty and Strong each hauled down six for the Lynx. DePauw's Mike Moore matched a career high with 10 assists, while Almefty paced Rhodes wtih six.

The Tigers travel to Centre on Friday, February 10, for an 8 p.m. contest with the Colonels, while Rhodes travels to Hendrix next Saturday.
