DePauw Jazz at the Duck Presents 'OffRamp' Thursday

February 7, 2006

walden inn front.jpgFebruary 7, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - OffRamp, a jazz quartet based in Bloomington, Indiana, will perform as a part of the DePauw Jazz at the Duck series this Thursday, February 9. The concert, which is free and open to the public, will take place from 9 to 11:00 p.m. in Walden Inn’s Fluttering Duck.

Quickly becoming recognized as one of the hippest and most adventuresome new jazz groups in the region, OffRamp's brand of jazz is slightly edgy with a foot in the past. In addition to original compositions and arrangements, the group includes standards from Guido Sinclair, James Singelton, Cal Tjader, and Jimmy Heath in its repertoir. The quartet is made up of veteran musicians Nate Johnson, tenor and soprano saxes, Robert Stright, vibes, Ron Kadish, bass, and Dan Deckard, drums.
