"A Powerful Field" at DePauw This Weekend, Declares Indianapolis Star

March 9, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - "A powerful field will gather at Greencastle as DePauw hosts an NCAA Division III basketball sectional Friday and Saturday," begins an article in today's Indianapolis Star. Pat McKee continues, "DePauw (28-1), ranked fifth in the latest coaches' poll, will meet No. 18 Wheaton (Ill.) (25-4) at 7 p.m. Friday. That game will follow the 5 p.m. opener between No. 3 Washington (Mo.) (25-2) and No. 4 Hope (Mich.) (29-1). The winners play at 7 p.m. Saturday, with the survivor advancing to the Division III semifinals at Springfield, Mass."
The story adds, "DePauw coach Kris Huffman's squad is paced by senior Liz Bondi, who averages 17.3 points, and junior Bridget Bailey, who adds 10.2 points. The Tigers are appearing in their seventh NCAA Tournament. They finished third nationally in 2002."

General admission tickets, available at the door, are $7 for adults, $4 for senior citizens, students and children ages two and older. Children under two years of age will be admitted free of charge. The DePauw athletic department will cover the ticket costs for DePauw students who show their student ID at the gate. The doors open at 4 p.m. on Friday.
