April 15, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw swept a doubleheader against visiting Sewanee and took all four games of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference series. The Tigers won the opener by a 13-2 count and won game two, 16-0, and extended their win streak to eight.

DePauw improved to 22-7 overall and 8-0 in the SCAC, while Sewanee dropped to 4-14 overall and 0-8 in the SCAC.

The Tigers banged out 13 hits in the first game as Rachel Gill led the way with three followed by Ashley Sewell, Jessica Bowlds and Lauren Curosh with two each. Curosh drove in three and improved to 14-6 after allowing just four hits in five innings.

Sewanee totaled six hits with Catherine Outten collecting two. Grace Kennedy dropped to 2-11 with the loss.

In the nightcap, the Tigers plated seven in the first and never looked back. Carolyn Bartlett led DePauw with three of the Tigers' 16 hits.

Chelsy Patterson, Bowlds and Nicole Kernan each added a pair. Bartlett and Sewell each drove in three and Sewell broke the DePauw career RBI record in the win. Keri Shake (1999-02) held the record with 74.

Katherine Veatch improved to 8-1 after allowing just three hits and striking out six in four innings. Morgan Cannon suffered the loss and dropped to 2-3.

DePauw travels to Franklin on Tuesday for a doubleheader before returning to SCAC action next weekend at Centre in a battle for the SCAC East Division top seed.
