Bondi and Padda advance to Division III doubles final

May 21, 2006, Santa Cruz, Calif. - The top-seeded doubles team of Liz Bondi and Amrita Padda advanced to the NCAA Division III Doubles national championship match following a pair of wins today.

They opened with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Jenna Mezin and Hali Walther of Wellesley before defeating Tabb and Wortham of Washington & Lee by a 7-5, 6-2 score.

The pair will face either Tara Houlihan and Lyndsey Palen of Gustavus Adolphus or Mona Iyer and Amy Staloch for the national doubles title on Monday morning.

DePauw's other doubles team of Erin Andrade and Connie Shim lost in the national quarterfinals to Iyer and Staloch of Carnegie Mellon by a 6-2, 7-5 score.

Due to weather, play was moved inside and Bondi, the top seed in singles, will begin quarterfinal play on Monday morning with the semifinals to follow. The national singles championship has been moved to Tuesday.
