July 11, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - W. Allan Walker, M.D., professor of pediatrics and director of the division of nutrition at the Harvard Medical School and 1959 graduate of DePauw University, has authored The Harvard Medical School Guide to Healthy Eating During Pregnancy. Published by McGraw-Hill and written with Courtney Humphries, the book "presents the latest findings on the connection between fetal health and the later health of individuals," according to a synopsis.

Dr. Walker is a recipient of the prestigious Murray Davidson Award for Excellence in Pediatric Nutrition from the American Academy of Pediatrics. He received an honorary degree from DePauw and serves on the University's Science and Technology Advisory Board.
