J P Hanlon.jpgSeptember 13, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - James Patrick "J.P." Hanlon, former assistant U.S. attorney and 1992 graduate of DePauw University, has joined Baker & Daniels LLP. A partner in the law firm and based in Indianapolis, Hanlon will focus his practice in the areas of white collar criminal defense, government investigations and internal corporate investigations.

Before accepting his new position, Hanlon served almost five years as an assistant U.S. attorney with the U.S. Attorney's office in Indianapolis. As a federal prosecutor, he investigated and prosecuted violations of federal criminal laws, including fraud, embezzlement, identity theft, tax crimes, criminal monetary transactions, firearms possession and trafficking, and violent crime. Hanlon also represented federal agencies and officials in civil lawsuits. He previously practiced in the Chicago office of a national law firm and served as a law clerk tosunny campus walk 2005.jpg the Honorable Robert L.
