Tigers top Sewanee, 4-2

October 8, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw jumped out to a 3-0 lead and never looked back in picking up a 4-2 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win over visiting Sewanee.

DePauw improved to 6-4 overall and 3-1 in the SCAC, while Sewanee dropped to 0-8-2 overall and 0-3 in the conference.

Scott Noel and Brock Welch scored first half goals with Jeremy Rielley assisting on the first.

Nick Noel added a penalty kick at 64:52 before Sewanee closed the margin to 3-2 on a penalty kick by Jake Dougher and a goal from Tab Wood. Rielley closed out the scoring at 79:39 with an assist from Nick Noel.

DePauw outshot Sewanee 19-11 and held a 6-3 edge in corners. John Fenley recorded four saves in goal for the Tigers, while Kevin Karpay had four for Sewanee.

DePauw travels to Franklin on Thursday, October 12, at 3 p.m.
