Tigers are runners-up at Illinois Wesleyan Tipoff Tournament

November 18, 2006, Bloomington, Ill. - DePauw, ranked third in the D3hoops.com poll and fifth in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' rankings, dropped to 1-1 on the season following a 77-68 loss at Illinois Wesleyan in the Illinois Wesleyan Tipoff Tournament title game.

The Tigers led most of the first half and still held a 6-point advantage with just under three minutes to play in the opening 20 minutes, but the Titans closed the half 10-3 run to take a 34-33 halftime edge. DePauw scored seven straight midway through the second half to take a 50-46 lead with 9:33 remaining, but Illinois Wesleyan scored the next 10 to take the lead for good.

Liz Bondi paced the Tigers with 18 points and eight rebounds, while Kalei Lowes added 15 points and Caitlin McGonigal followed with 10. Sarah Bull led Illinois Wesleyan with 25 followed by Claire Sheehan with 21 and Christina Solari with 15 along with 16 rebounds.

DePauw hosts Fontbonne on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
