Tony DeVarco '83 Named to Judge Technology Innovation Competition

DeVarco, corporate alliance manager at Symantec Corporation and 1983 graduate of DePauw University, has been selected as one of five judges for the Itanium® Solutions Alliance Innovation Contest. The panel will recognize outstanding achievements in Itanium 2-based computing. One winner in each of three categories will receive a $50,000 cash prize.

"The panelists represent a cross section of the Itanium 2-based computing landscape and will use their diverse knowledge of the platform to judge the innovative applications submitted by contestants from around the world,” says Robin Drummond, president of the Itanium Solutions Alliance.

DeVarco has also managed various ISV relationships and led SGI’s Geospatial and Homeland Security Industry market initiatives. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from DePauw University and a master’s degree in arts administration from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music."

The Itanium Solutions Alliance was formed by leading enterprise and technical solutions providers to work together towards a common objective of transitioning the world of proprietary computing platforms to open, industry standard solutions based on Intel Itanium architecture.
