Tigers top Trinity for 30th straight SCAC home win

January 19, 2007, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw took a 10-2 lead in the opening four minutes and never trailed on the way to a 76-54 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win over Trinity. DePauw, ranked 10th by D3hoops.com and 11th in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' poll, improved to 15-2 overall and 5-1 in the SCAC, while Trinity dropped to 9-6 overall and 3-3 in the conference.

Caitlin McGonigal led all scorers with 17 as DePauw extended its SCAC record home win streak to 30 straight conference home victories. Liz Bondi followed with 12 and a game-high nine rebounds, while Gretchen Haehl added 10 points. Suzy Doughty paced the Tigers with nine assists. Lauren Andrews led Trininty with 16 points and Carlee Culver grabbed eight rebounds.

DePauw used a 14-2 run in the first half to take a 37-16 lead on the way to a 40-23 halftime advantage. Trinity got as close as 15 in the second half, but the hosts limited Trinity to just 10 points over the final 11 minutes.

The Tigers shot 44.4 percent from the floor and held Trinity to just 29.4 percent and DePauw hit 6-of-17 from three-point range to Trinity's 1-of-7. Trinity held a 49-44 edge on the boards.

DePauw hosts Southwestern on Saturday at 6 p.m., while Trinity travels to Centre.
