lee hamilton 9-11-2005.jpgJanuary 22, 2007, Greencastle, Ind. - Noting that Lee H. Hamilton, co-chair of the Iraq Study Group and 1952 graduate of DePauw University, "urged Congress to consider 'a surge in diplomacy' in the Middle East," the Cape Cod Times also offers some information "for the sports fans among us.... This adopted Hoosier (Hamilton was born in Florida) was a starting basketball player while a high school student in Evansville, Ind., and later at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. He was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame -- no small feat in a state where basketball reigns supreme."

Access the "political Notes" column at the newspaper's Web site.

The testimony the article refers to was presented by Hamilton on Friday to the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Read more in this previous story.
