DePauw's eight-game streak snapped in loss at Centre

February 3, 2007, Danville, Ky. - Centre opened the second half with a 20-7 run and pulled away from DePauw in a 73-41 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference game.

DePauw's eight-game win streak came to an end as the Tigers dropped to 17-4 overall and 8-2 in the SCAC, while Centre improved to 16-4 overall and 8-2 in the SCAC.

The Tigers jumped out to a 7-3 lead, but the host Colonels scored the next 16 points to take a 19-7 advantage on the way to a 27-16 halftime margin. That lead reached as many as 34 in the second half.

Austin Brown paced DePauw with 14 points, while Matt McDonald grabbed six rebounds. Danny Noll paced Centre with 13 points and Matt Nestheide added 12. John Patterson grabbed a game-high nine rebounds including five on the offensive glass.

DePauw shot just 26.4 percent from the field and only 21.4 percent in the first half, while Centre hit 52.9 percent for the game and 60.7 percent in the second half. Colonels hit 9-of-19 three-pointers, while DePauw managed just 1-of-11. Centre also held a 37-28 edge on the boards.

The Tigers travel to Hendrix for an 8 p.m. CST contest with the Warriors on Friday, February 9.
