March 31, 2007, Sewanee, Tenn. - DePauw improved to 14-10 overall and 4-2 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference following a doubleheader sweep at Sewanee.

The Tigers won the first game by a 5-2 score and the nightcap by a 13-8 count. Sewanee dropped to 3-20 overall and 0-6 in the SCAC.

Jeremy Alland improved to 3-1 after allowing just two unearned runs on just five hits. DePauw took a 1-0 lead in the second when Matt Fritz's single scored Adam Ford.

Sewanee took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the second as Tyler Williams drove in a run after being hit by a pitch with the base loaded and the second Tiger error of the inning allowed the other run to score.

Jeremy Dickinson's RBI double in the fifth tied the score, while Adam Ford led off the sixth with a homer and Fritz later drove in a pair with a single.

Fritz and Justin Weiner each had two of DePauw's eight hits, while Fritz drove in three runs. Five different Sewanee players had one hit apiece, while Steven Shepherd dropped to 0-3 with the loss.

In the second game, DePauw took a 5-0 lead in the second and extended it to 11-2 in the fourth.

The Tigers totaled 11 hits with Matt Kleine going four-for-four with seven RBI and a two-run homer in the first. Chris Newman collected two of DePauw's 11 hits and scored four runs. Sewanee finished with seven hits as Taylor Burns led the way with two homers.

John Tschantz improved to 3-0 with the win, while Josh Curtis dropped to 3-4 with the loss.

The two teams square off in a noon CDT doubleheader on Sunday.
