Two Student-Athletes Cited by ESPN The Magazine

May 16, 2007, Greencastle, Ind. - Two DePauw University student-athletes -- junior baseball outfielder Matt Kleine and senior softball designated player Laura Schlensker -- have been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V College Division First Teams for their respective sports. The names of both will now be placed on the national ballot.
The team is selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Nominees must have a minimum 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key reserve.
Kleine, who hails from Fishers, Ind.,has a 3.45 cumulative grade point average while majoring in communication at DePauw. He led the 25-17 Tigers this season with a .390 batting average. Kleine also led the squad with 41 runs, 39 RBI, a .568 slugging percentage and a .489 on-base percentage.
Schlensker, a resident of Zionsville, Ind., is a kinesiology major and has a 3.49 cumulative grade point average. She is hitting .413 with four homers and 36 RBI for the 36-5 Tigers. DePauw won one of eight NCAA Division III regionals on Sunday and advanced to the national finals which begin Friday in Salem, Va.
