Liz Bondi Advances to NCAA Singles Final Match

bondi0523051.jpgMay 20, 2007, Greencastle, Ind. - "The championship for singles will be played today at noon, with DePauw's Liz Bondi facing defending national champion Emily Applegate of Washington and Lee," reports the Free Lance-Star of Fredericksburg, Virginia. Bondi, a DePauw senior, advanced to the NCAA Division III Singles finals for the second time in three years following Saturday's 6-4, 6-3 quarterfinal win over Middlebury's Amy Roche and a 6-3, 6-3 semifinal victory over Pomona-Pitzer's Siobhan Finicane.

In the men's championship, DePauw senior Evan Webeler lost in the singles semifinals to John Watts of Washington Universtiy. In the Division III doubles quarterfinals, Webeler and Scott Swanson lost to Kevin Bergesen and Andrew Thompson of Middlebury by scores of 6-3, 6-1.
