Coach Matt Walker '99 Quoted in Star Article on IU's Bill Lynch

June 16, 2007

Matt Walker.jpgJune 16, 2007, Greencastle, Ind. - "Mention Bill Lynch to those who have played with him, played for him and coached with him during his nomadic football career and the response is unanimous," begins a story in today's Indianapolis Star. "Nice guy. Really nice guy," writes Mark Monteith, who notes the respect others have for Lynch, the former head football coach at DePauw University. "Those sentiments were echoed by DePauw coach Matt Walker, who was an assistant on Lynch's staff when the Tigers finished 8-2 in his only season as coach there in 2004."

Walker, (pictured at top left) a 1999 graduate of DePauw, tells the newspaper, "Bill's such a great person. That's the first thing you learn about him. You grow to want to win for Bill because of the kind of person he is."
