David Lockie '84 Appointed President of Union Beverage Company

East College Tower 2005.jpgAugust 21, 2007, Greencastle, Ind. - David M. Lockie, a 1984 graduate of DePauw University, has been named president of Illinois-based Union Beverage Company. Currently the firm's vice president, sales & marketing, Lockie will assume his new position on August 27.

"We are extremely excited to promote David Lockie as our Illinois president," says Mike Maxwell, executive vice president and chief operating officer of parent company Glazer's Distributors. "David is a well-qualified industry veteran who can help us maximize Glazer's growth opportunities in Illinois by focusing on the specific needs of our employees, customers and suppliers."

Lockie came to Union Beverage in 2005 when the company acquired the Johnson Brothers, which Lockie led. The company's announcement notes that he "has a B.A. in sociology from DePauw University."

Glazer's, which operates in 12 states, is one of the nation's largest wholesale distributors of wine, spirits, and malt beverage products.
