"Having a coach with Brian's experience will benefit our program," says IUPUI women's head coach Shann Hart. "He comes from a winning program at DePauw, and I hope that his experiences will carry over into our program. Brian has worked with post players over the last three years, and he will aid the improvement of our posts greatly."

"I am excited to be joining Coach Hart's staff," adds Kern, who has earned as master's degree in sports management at Indiana State University since receiving his DePauw diploma. "She is a proven Division I head coach, and I am looking forward to learning from her as well as maintaining a high level of success at IUPUI."
