Rhodes Ends Tigers' Win Streak in Strokes

October 12, 2007, Memphis, Tenn. - After 70 minutes of regulation and 30 minutes of overtime, host Rhodes eventually sent DePauw to defeat in penalty strokes, 4-3. DePauw dropped to 8-5 overall and 2-3 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, while Rhodes improved to 9-4 overall and 3-2. The loss snapped the Tigers' six-game win streak.

Rhodes took the lead at 13:06 on Lindsey Gurkovich's goal before DePauw's Meredith Ellis tied the contest at 19:30. Gurkovich made it 2-1 at 25:27 on Sara Haney's assist before Carolyn Mueller and Sarah Riffle sent the Tigers to a 3-2 halftime lead with goals in the final six minutes of the half. Mueller assisted on the latter. Charlie Wagner forced the overtime with the lone goal of the second half at 53:49.

The Lynx outshot DePauw 26-13 and held an 18-8 advantage in corners. Liz Attewell recorded 15 saves for DePauw, while Megan Cullen and Julz Anderson each had two for Rhodes.

DePauw travels to Hendrix for a Sunday morning contest.
