Tigers Finish Seventh at NCAA Championships

November 17, 2007, Northfield, Minn. - With the top five runners finishing within 11 seconds of one another, the 14th-ranked Tigers totaled 275 points and finished seventh at the NCAA Division III Championships hosted by St. Olaf College.

Lauren Reich finished 73rd in 22:45, while Taylor Penrod was just behind her in 74th in 22:45. Alison Case finished 82nd in 22:51 followed by Laura Ardington in 93rd in 22:55 and Julie Theibert in 96th in 22:56. Bridget Blair placed 242nd in 24:01, while Melissa Buckley finished in 250th in 24:09.

Amherst won with 120 points followed by Plattsburgh State with 159, Washington-St. Louis with 194 and Calvin was fourth with 199. Geneseo State placed fifth with 249 and Case Western Reserve was sixth with 264 points. Willamette's Sarah Zerzan won by covering the 6-kilometer course in 20:54.

The appearance at the national championships was the Tigers' fourth straight and their best ever.
