October 21, 1944

The host Little Giants ended their season with a 4-1-2 record this afternoon by defeating the Tigers, 14-7, in the football rivalry which dates back to 1890. DePauw, which still has three games remaining on its schedule, has now lost its first five contests of 1944.

Wabash took a 7-0 lead to the halftime locker room, but DePauw knotted the score on a touchdown run by Jim Stauffer (seen in top photo). Coach Gaumey Neal's squad attempted to answer the go-ahead Wabash score when the Little Giants Monon Bell Brick Walk.jpgfumbled the ball late in the game. A would-be touchdown reception was ruled out of the end zone on fourth down, sealing the Tigers' fate.
