Oilar Named SCAC Co-Player of the Week

DSC_7785.jpgJanuary 3, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - Coming off MVP honors at the Tampa Bay Shootout with a pair of double-doubles, DePauw senior Brian Oilar has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Week for games from December 17 through January 1. He shared the honor with Millsaps' Rodney Rogan.

Oilar equaled a career-high with 13 rebounds against Rose-Hulman and then topped it with 14 against Case Western Reserve. He had a career-high 20 points against Case Western and then reestablished it the next day with 22 against Mount St. Joseph.

During the two-week period, Oilar averaged a double-double with 16.8 points and 11.3 rebounds while shooting 56.5 percent (26-46) from the field, which included 50.0 percent (6-12) from three-point range. He also sank 81.8 percent (9-11) from the free-throw line.

For the season Oilar is averaging 14.4 points (12th in the SCAC) and 8.3 rebounds (fourth in the SCAC) per game and is shooting 56.9 percent from the field (fourth in the SCAC).
