12th-ranked Tigers Roll to SCAC Victory

January 4, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - The 12th-ranked Tigers jumped out to a 16-2 lead in the opening eight minutes of their Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference game with visiting Sewanee on the way to a 77-35 win.

DePauw improved to 9-2 overall and 2-0 in the SCAC as it extended its school-record home win streak to 18. The Tigers have also won 37 straight regular season home contests and 34 straight home SCAC games. Sewanee dropped to 5-6 overall and 1-1 in the conference.

The Tigers led 35-13 at halftime before shooting 53 percent in the second half while extending the margin to as many as 46.

Cassie Pruzin paced the Tigers with 19 points and six assists and also grabbed seven rebounds. Emily Marshall led DePauw on the boards with a career-high 12 and Andrea Travelstead also hauled down a career-best with 10. The Tigers held a 50-21 edge on the boards.

Anne Wills led Sewanee with 10 points, while Acacia Mack and Rachel Miller each grabbed four rebounds. Mack added three assists. Steffi Renninger, Sewanee's leading scorer entering the game, left just two minutes into the contest with an injury.

DePauw hosts Oglethorpe at noon on Sunday, while Sewanee travels to Centre. Oglethorpe is 10-1 after a 71-55 win over Centre tonight. The Stormy Petrels are ranked 25th by D3hoops.com and 19th in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll.
