DePauw Continues Climb in Rankings; Think Pink This Weekend

Think_Pink_Pink_OrangeBalls.jpgFebruary 5, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - After sweeping road games at Southwestern and Trinity, the 17-3 Tigers moved up one spot in both national polls.

The Tigers totaled 322 points in the D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll and moved up to 12th, while Hope College tops the poll with 617 points and 17 first-place votes.

This is the DePauw's 65th straight week in the D3hoops.com Top 25 and 106th overall. Tigers' teams have received votes in 134 of the 135 polls since the rankings started in 1999.

DePauw totaled 127 points in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll and moved up to 13th Hope remained in the top spot with 250 points and 10 first-place votes.

The Tigers return to the Lilly Center this weekend when they host Rhodes on Friday at 6 p.m. and Birmingham-Southern at 1 p.m. on Sunday. These games are part of "Think Pink Weekend" as the women's basketball program supports the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's initiative to raise breast cancer awareness.

Fans attending the games, can take part in the following:

    > Wear pink in honor and/or memory of family members and friends who have been impacted by breast cancer.

    > Honor or remember those who have been touched by breast cancer by putting their names in the circle at no charge. Details will be available at the Neal Fielhouse entrance.

    > Participate in the Give Five Campaign. The members of the DePauw women’s basketball team will each give $5 to the cause before both the Friday and Sunday games. The players challenge everyone in attendance to do the same.
