KB Home & CEO Jeff Mezger '77 Celebrate "Prestigious Honor"

March 21, 2008

Jeff Mezger.jpgMarch 21, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - "This is a prestigious honor and accomplishment for our company that speaks volumes about how our peers view us," says Jeffrey Mezger, president and chief executive officer of KB Home, which has again been ranked the #1 homebuilder in Fortune magazine's list of America's Most Admired Companies. Mezger, a 1977 graduate of DePauw University, says the designation "is a reflection of our commitment to our customers, employees, shareholders and the communities in which we build, and we are deeply honored by this news."

KB Home was also ranked #1 in 2006.

The magazine's ranking process begins by analyzing the "Fortune 1,000 -- the 1,000 largest U.S. companies ranked by revenue -- and the top foreign companies operating in the U.S.," notes an announcement. "They sorted the companies by industry and selected the ten largest companies in each. To create the 64 industry lists, Hay Group asked executives, directors, and analysts to rate companies in their own industry on eight criteria, from investment value to social responsibility. This year only the best are listed -- a company's score must rank in the top half of its industry survey to appear in the KB Home.jpgmagazine list. A total of 622 companies in 65 industries were surveyed for this year's rankings."
