Denison Advances to Sunday's Third-Round with 6-0 Win over Albion

May 3, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - Fifth-ranked Denison advanced to Sunday's NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship third round following a 6-0 second-round win over Albion. The Big Red face eighth-ranked DePauw in Sunday's 12:30 p.m. match with the winner advancing to the national quarterfinals.

Denison won all three doubles matches as the number three team of Erin Gorsich and Kara Zdanowski defeated Mara Rendina and Lisa Wohlford, 8-2, and the number two tandem of Meghan Damico and Kendra Murray topped Emily and Anna Gundersen, 8-3.

The Big Red completed the doubles sweep as the number-one duo of Marta Drane and Kristin Cobb beat Shelley Zamler and Michelle Mulder, 8-4

Cobb defeated Mulder by a 6-1, 6-1 score at the number two singles slot before Damico beat Zamler at first singles 6-2, 6-0 and Murray topped Anna Gundersen 6-1, 6-3 at number five.

Denison improved to 19-3 with the win, while the Britons finished the season at 19-3.
