Three Alums to be Featured in Michigan Production of Die Fledermaus

August 21, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - "Resident artist and soprano Karen Hughes brings her friends to Sault Ste. Marie to star in the Soo Theatre Project's September 11th, 13th, and 14th production of Die Fledermaus or The Revenge of the Bat," reports Soo Today, also noting that the cast includes Rosemary and Chris Hollingsworth. Christopher Hollingsworth is a 1992 DePauw graduate while his wife, Rosemary (Deal) Hollingsworth, received her undergraduate degree from the University in 1995, the same year in which Karen Hughes graduated.

A lyric soprano, Karen Hughes has performed at the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing, China as the soprano soloist in Bach's "Mass in B Minor" with the Tianjin Symphony and performs regularly with the Sault Symphony in Ontario, Canada. Learn more at Classical Singer.org.
Christopher Hollingsworth is an assistant professor of voice in the Illinois State University School of Music. A tenor, he has appeared with various regional opera companies in the United States.
Soprano Rosemary Hollingsworth has performed leading roles in operas, including Tales of Hoffman, Don Giovanni and The Medium, and has served on the voice faculty of Illinois Wesleyan, Lycoming College, and Illinois State University.Back
