Mark Kelley '79 Co-Chairing Indianapolis Cancer/Oncology Summit

October 14, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - Mark R. Kelley, Ph.D., a 1979 DePauw University graduate, is co-chairing a cancer/oncology summit in Indianapolis, December 1-2. "Emerging Trends and New Developments in Cancer Discovery, Diagnosis and Treatment" will be held at the University Place Conference Center. Dr. Kelley is associate director of the Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research and associate director for the Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center.
"The event will provide a unique combination of presentations, panel discussions and networking opportunities for scientists, clinicians and supporting institutions and private corporations," says Kelley. "And we hope the format of the meeting will stimulate new interactions, connections and collaborations among all of us in Indiana working in oncology."
The conference's keynote speakers will be Eric K. Rowinsky, M.D., chief medical officer, and executive vice president of ImClone Systems, Inc., and Douglas W. Blayney, M.D., medical director, University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center, and president-elect of American Society of Clinical Oncology.
