Set for this Sunday, November 9, from 12:30 to 4 p.m. in the Green Center for the Performing Arts, the event will close DePauw's eleven-day celebration, ArtsFest 2008: Art & Borders.

Art Attack promises to be an exciting afternoon of performances, workshops and hands-on art activities. In its seventh year, this popular event is an opportunity for DePauw students to share their artistic knowledge and passions with art attack 2007.jpgPutnam County children. The event is free and open to all.

The centrally-located Green Center will be buzzing with activity as student organizations, honorary societies, sororities, fraternities, and talented individuals gather to host the fun-filled afternoon. Hands-on crafts will be offered throughout the afternoon including mask making, drawing Putnam County, paper cranes for peace, make-your-own instrument, and create a mural.

Attendees will be invited to performances beginning at 1 p.m. offered by the Wamidan Dance Troupe, the singersArtsFest_a&borders.jpg of DePauwCapella, the DePauw Color Guard, the improvisational theatre troupe unIMPROVable, the DePauw Jazz Band, and more. Also planned are a poetry workshop, a participatory drum circle, and the ever popular musical petting zoo. Tours of the Peeler Art Center's gallery and of the backstage area of Moore Theatre will also be operating throughout the afternoon. DePauw's student radio station, WGRE, will be broadcasting from the event offering opportunities for visitors to "be on the radio."
