Two Juniors Receive All-American Recognition

reich_lauren_2008wcc.jpgNovember 26, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw University junior Lauren Reich has earned All-America honors for her performance at the NCAA Division III cross country championships. Alex Fitch, a junior defensive end, has been selected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America College Division Football Second Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Reich finished 27th at the NCAA Championships, which took place November 22 at Hanover College. The women's cross country team took 26th place at the event.

An economics and mathematics Fitch_Alex_2008fb.jpgdouble major, Fitch has a 3.98 cumulative grade point average through four semesters and is a senior, academically. The Management Fellow has been named to DePauw's Dean's List all four semesters. In addition to his normal course load, Fitch also takes one piano class each semester and plans to perform a junior recital next year.

On the field, Fitch started all 10 games for the 8-2 Tigers and blocked a team-high six kicks, including one early in the 115th Monon Bell Classic. He was a two-time Team of the Week selection this season.
