DePauw Moves Back into National Rankings

D2X_3350.JPGJanuary 27, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. —  Coming off Sunday's 80-71 win at Hendrix, the 15-3 Tigers have moved back into the top 25 of both Division III polls.

The Tigers are ranked 23rd in the latest Top 25 Poll and 24th in the USA Today ESPN Division III Top 25 Coaches' Poll.

DePauw opened the season with a 3-3 mark which included a one-point loss to currently top-ranked Illinois Wesleyan and a three-point defeat at Oglethorpe (9th D3hoops/10th coaches'). Since then, the Tigers have reeled off 12 straight wins.

The Tigers received votes in 148 of the 149 polls and have earned top 25 rankings in 73 of the last 79 polls.

DePauw takes its 7-1 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference record into Friday night's home contest against Trinity University. Trinity is 13-4 overall and also 7-1 in the conference after handing Oglethorpe just its second loss of the season and snapping their 12-game win streak in last Sunday's win in San Antonio.

Tipoff in the Neal Fieldhouse is set for 8 p.m. WGRE will carry the game live and live stats will be availalble as well.
