Tigers Slip Two Spots in NFCA Poll

041009.jpgApril 22, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. —  Despite winning all three games last weekend, DePauw dropped two spots to 19th in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Poll.

The 23-7 Tigers have won 10 straight after losing to 13th-ranked Illinois Wesleyan on March 31 and collected 57 total points in the poll after totaling 72 last week.

East Texas Baptist tops the rankings with five first-place votes, 196 total points and a 30-4 record. Linfield and Louisiana College are tied for second with 185 points each. Linfield has two first-place votes and Louisiana College one.

Six of DePauw's seven losses have come to teams ranked in the top 15 of this week's poll.

The Tigers go after their second straight Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference title beginning on Friday with a 6 p.m. CDT contest against the winner of the Trinity-Millsaps game.
