Harris Named to GCAA All-Freshmen Team

harris_ronnie_action2009.jpgMay 29, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. —  DePauw's Ronnie Harris was one of six student-athletes selected to the Golf Coaches Association of America Division III All-Freshmen Team. Harris was the top freshman from the Great Lakes Region.

The team leader with a 74.7 stroke average, Harris posted seven top 10 finishes including medalist honors at Denison's Ted Barclay Invitational in April. At that tournament he led the field with a two-round 139 which included a season-best 68 in the second round.

Other members of the team included Division III outstanding freshman of the year Mack Duke (Huntingdon), Alex Berningham (Trinity, Conn.), Dan Liebowitz (Franklin & Marshall), Chris Reck (Wartbug) and Tain Lee (Claremont-Mudd-Scripps).

The Tigers finished the season with a third-place showing at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships.
