Megan Klinginsmith '99 Appointed Elementary School Principal

June 14, 2009

June 14, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — "She's a superior young educator," Barb Underwood, superintendent of Indiana's Carmel Clay Schools, says of Megan (Greves) Klinginsmith, a 1999 DePauw University graduate who has been appointed principal of Carmel Elementary School. Klinginsmith has worked for the district since her graduation from DePauw. She spent the past year as an assistant principal and Title I teacher at Forest Dale Elementary.

"Megan decided a couple of years ago that she really wanted to be at the elementary level, that's kind of where her heart was," Underwood tells the Indianapolis Star. "She made the decision to go to the half-time assistant principal job at Forest Dale and half-time teaching job to get that elementary experience again. Her goal was to eventually become an elementary principal so she's accomplished that now."

"I'm totally thrilled to have the opportunity to lead the students, staff and parents at Carmel Elementary," Klinginsmith tells the newspaper. "They have a lot of wonderful things going on within the school that I have heard about so far. I'm eager to get on board and learn more and continue to build upon those things."
