Ellie Ypma Joins Board of Putnam County Community Foundation

Ellie Ypma bg.jpgJune 29, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — Eleanor "Ellie" Ypma, who served as DePauw University's registrar for 33 years before her retirement in 2004, has been elected to the Putnam County Community Foundation's board of directors. The Community Foundation is a public charity which has awarded more than $5.13 million in grants since 1985.

Today's Banner-Graphic notes Ypma's election, and that her "professional experience includes various positions at DePauw University from 1971 to 2004 including registrar and associate vice president Tower EC Summer 2006.jpgwith a rank of professor. While working, she was active in professional organizations, serving as president of Indiana Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admission Officers, member of the American Council in Education's National Identification Program for the Advancement of Women in Higher Education State Planning Committee (ACE-INIP), and national executive officer of Kappa Delta Pi National Education Society. Since retirement she volunteers in the After School Reading Program at Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church and the Putnam County Museum. She serves on the Scholarship Committee of the Putnam County Community Foundation and continues to be active with the DePauw retirees group."
