Report: Vernon Jordan '57 Arranges Obama-Woods Golf Outing

D2X_2355 copy.JPGAugust 21, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — President Barack Obama and Tiger Woods plan to play a round of golf together during the president's vacation in Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, according to a Boston Herald report today. "Vernon Jordan, a Washington and New York power broker, arranged the outing, the Herald reported," notes CBS News.

A 1957 graduate of DePauw University, Vernon E. Jordan Jr. served as an adviser to Presidents Clinton and Carter and was president of the National Urban League. Jordan is senior managing director of Lazard Vernon Jordan Make it Plain rev(2).jpgFrères & Co. and an advisory member of DePauw's Board of Trustees. He has authored Vernon Can Read! and Make It Plain: Standing Up and Speaking Out.
