Linda Sellen Frazier 2009a.jpgAugust 30, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — "Seven Tulsans who have made outstanding contributions to the community will be honored at the 23rd annual Tulsa Hall of Fame ceremony on Oct. 15.," including Linda Sellen Frazier, a 1962 graduate of DePauw University. The induction ceremony will take place at Southern Hills Country Club, reports the Tulsa World.

"Frazier is a native Tulsan and guiding force for art appreciation, education and enjoyment in her hometown and the state of Oklahoma," notes the newspaper in today's edition. "She received a bachelor of arts degree in French and music from DePauw University and a master's degree in the humanities from TU. Frazier has served on an array of arts organizations from Chamber Music Tulsa and the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics Foundation to chairwoman of the Oklahoma Arts Council and the Tulsa Arts Commission. Her work is motivated by the beliefs that every child should have access to arts education, that the arts are vital to community development, and that no city can be great without a symphony orchestra."

According to James Orbison, president of the Tulsa Historical Society, "The inductees represent the finest Tulsa has to offer in a wide range of civic responsibility, volunteerism, culture, and entrepreneurship. Each has made outstanding contributions to Tulsa."
